Almost 30
I woke up on a beautiful morning
Filled with enthusiasm
Red roses in my garden were blooming
And that gave me a satisfaction.
I opened my window
To feel the morning breeze
I heard a Maestro
Play some wonderful whimsies!
The clock was ticking,
And the cars were racing,
My mind was lingering,
But the night was almost fading.
My phone was ringing,
And someone was Knocking,
People were greeting,
And it was very exciting.
I know I was loved
Even though life was tough
My friends always cared
But that just wasn't enough.
I thought about my past,
And about my mistakes
I felt a bit aghast
And it just gave me headaches.
I lingered on my regrets,
And wondered about my assets
I pondered where I was,
And felt a little mean.
I searched for a cause,
And wished I were sixteen.
My thoughts were distracted
By something unexpected,
It was a nice greeting
Granting my wishing.
I wondered about my life
And people who live in strife!
I realized my life was wonderful,
With people that are cheerful,
I counted my blessing,
Now my eyes are flooding.
I decided to celebrate this day,
Not everyday is my Birth day.
I will tell you, I am lightweight
But never my real weight,
How much ever you debate,
I won't tell you I am Twenty-eight.
